The Uckermark Region Technology and Founder's Centre (TGZ), which has its head office in Schwedt/Oder, was founded in 1992. Since 1 August 2009, TGZ has a new name: ICU Investor Center Uckermark GmbH. Shareholders are the rural district Uckermark, the City of Schwedt/Oder, the City of Prenzlau and the City of Angermünde. The ICU sees itself as a service centre for the promotion of business start-ups of small- and medium-size firms in industries such as instrument engineering, engineering and consultancy services, and business development or project management.
Founders of a business as well as small businessmen can be given support in the form of advisory services, contact addresses, and information and office services. Office spaces and industrial real estate are offered at very favourable conditions. In addition, a conference room can be rented on a day-to-day basis.
